Feast of Pentecost

<bgsound src="http://www.romaaeterna.jp/liber1/lu0885.mid" loop="infinite">
The Solemnity of Pentecost fittingly closes the season of Easter. On this day, as the Risen Lord promised, the Holy Spirit came and descended upon the disciples who were gathered in steadfast prayer. Thus, they were transformed from being fearful, reluctant believers to zealous and fiery apostles of the Good News. Whenever we gather for liturgy, the same mystery happens. The Holy Spirit not only changes the bread and the wine, but makes us also the living Body of Christ, sending us forth as his living and transforming presence in the world. As we keep our Paschal candle after Second Vespers, let us pray that the fire of the Spirit may always burn in our hearts so that we, the Body of Christ, may truly shine as light in the Lord.
